This is The Steamship Earnslaw, seen and still working in Queenstown on Lake Wakatipu. Much loved by tourists and locals alike.Centenary was 2012. It is 168feet long, 24ft. beam, weight 330 tonnes. Still driven by local coal for steam power.
Originally built by a firm called J. McGregor, in Dunedin NZ. Dismantled and transported by rail to Kingston, were it was re-assembled and launched. It was to be a working vessel for the local station holders for as very many years.
The little Ship comes off it's rope base. It is also available as a charm, and can be created in to a lapel pin.
